Worship Ministry 
Worship is not a spectator sport! God's word tells us that the Father is actively looking for people who will be wholehearted worshippers.The goal of Worship Ministry is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to use their voices and musical abilities for God's glory.

 

Family Ministry

We believe that God has called us to be a Family of Faith; a Family that worships, serves, and grows together.  We are intentional about Family Ministry and seek to develop opportunities for intergenerational service and worship as well as provide weekly discipleship programs for a wide variety of ages including College aged through Pre-School. Our hope is to strengthen Families with youth & children as well as create a sense of community in which all can come to celebrate the Family of Faith God has gifted us to be.

 

 

Women's Ministry
The Women’s Ministry of Second Avenue Baptist Church provides a warm, non-threatening, feminine environment for church members, friends and neighbors to come and hear the Gospel in personal testimony, prayer, special events and Bible study.

The Women’s Ministry’s goal is to:

• Evangelize the lost.
• Encourage the discouraged.
• Provide prayer teams for special prayer needs.
• Enhance the ministry of Missions of our WMU.
• Encourage women to study the Bible and apply its principles to daily living.
• Lead women to understand how they may have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Help women discover and develop their spiritual gifts and provide opportunities for using them.

 

Men's Ministry
Provides and promotes ministry opportunities, Bible Study, prayer and fellowship among the men of Second Avenue Baptist Church. Fellowship, encouragement, teaching and personal challenge are very important elements in our meetings.


Age 50 and Up Ministry
Fun and Fellowship meets monthly and whose purpose is that of outreach and community ministry, plans community service projects, seasonal trips to local points of interest, and sponsors First Thursday Lunches.

Homebound Ministry 
Homebound members are an important part of our church. Through our Homebound Ministry, we are touching the lives of seniors with kindness, caring and the love of Christ. At Second Avenue Baptist Church, our Homebound Ministry is designed to keep members who cannot attend our services and events connected with the church. This ministry team cares for senior adults who are either in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or their own homes. This ministry provides visits, phone calls, cards, gifts for special occasions, as well as anything else to encourage this group. Homebound Ministry volunteers carry out this vital ministry. We want those members confined to home to feel like part of the Second Avenue family too! Our ministry also includes a CD Ministry that mails cd's of weekly Sunday morning worship services. 

Missions Ministry
Here at Second Avenue we are on mission with God to be the Body of Christ in the World. We do that through a variety of ways including mission trips, local mission partnerships, and individual service.
